The Story
Edward Teach (c.1680-1718 CE), better known as Blackbeard, was a notorious English pirate who sailed around the West Indies and the eastern coast of the American colonies on his ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge. He was likely born in Bristol, England and worked as a sailor on privateer ships before arriving on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas. He partnered up with Captain Benjamin Hornigold and they engaged in numerous acts of piracy throughout the Caribbean.
